We recently ran our successful Back on Track campaign this Summer. We have been alerted to a confirmed case of flu in an unvaccinated horse in Kent and so are extending our offer through October and November. Please take this opportunity to protect your horse and get their vaccinations Back on Track.
2014 saw an increase in the number of EI outbreaks in the UK and with more virus apparently circulating there is an increasing risk of virus mutation and a major epidemic. The last epidemic occurred in 2003 and historically the UK has seen one every 10-15 years.
Milbourn Equine uses the only vaccine available in the UK that contains the most up to date flu virus strains, that is the Florida sublineage Clades 1 & 2 as recommended by the OIE, World Health Organisation for Animal Health.
Subsidised testing for EI is available and veterinary advice should be sought for any horses showing the typical clinical signs of cough, nasal discharge and a high temperature.
In partnership with Merial, we are offering a discounted primary vaccination course:- £61.50 (flu and tetanus) or £57.75 (flu) for the first two vaccinations- a saving of £20.50 off the usual price.
Please note this offer is open to all equines over 12 months of age that have not yet been vaccinated against equine influenza or are overdue a booster. Any visit fee must be borne by the horse owner.
