2012 BEF Anti-Doping Rule Changes
11 January 2012

From 1st January 2012 The British Equestrian Federation which regulates British Showjumping, British Dressage, British Eventing and British Reining has introduced new medicine regulations.
These new rules match the international (FEI) regulations and divides medicines into two categories; Banned Substances and Controlled Substances.
In summary if your horse requires medication which may still be in your horse’s system at the time of competition then a medication form must be completed in conjunction with your vet, stating the reason for using the product.  This form must be taken to the competition, to be produced in the event of a drugs test.  It is therefore important to be aware of the withdrawal period of any medication prescribed.
